Hi guys ,just recently received my Little 16 Ga.O Frame , back from Brad Bachelders , Brad redid the Damascus barrels and replaced a couple of screws in the receiver and removed the cheap after market huge plastic beads and replaced them with his own, hand made in the shop ,Ivory beads ,Also The Rib had to be relaid ,so they did that work also . I haven't had a chance to discuss the gun with Brad ,but ,I couldn't be happier with the work that he did on this gun ! Just to mention ,The colors nor the wood were done by Bachelders , just the work mentioned ! Thought you guys may like to take a look ! Russ

Why a fishtail lever on a hammerless gun? Using up old stock after the changeover?

Ya John,That is what we believe. I have 68805 and 75 something. Both hammerless guns with the fishtail top lever.

Thank you all for the nice compliments on the gun ,I am very pleased with it ,I bought the gun quite a while ago and the barrels were blued ,a nice looking job ,but not correct and in my opinion ,not any where near as nice as the Damascus pattern ! Brad has been working hard on his barrel refinishing procedures and Case Coloring ,just wanted to show off his Damascus work ! Considered having the entire gun refinished ,but for now opted to just do the work that was really needed and go from there ! :) Russ

Wow, that is outstanding, Russ!! As well - any idea what they used to coat the bbls with to protect the pattern? Shellac, maybe??? Simply outstanding!

Thank you John ;No I have no idea ,I haven't had a chance to speak with Brad since I received the gun back a little over a week ago ,I just keep missing him ,I have been getting in, in the evenings this past week a little later than usual ! I post the pics. mostly so the guys can see the workmanship coming out of his shop ,and of course to show off the barrels just a little bit :) ,as everyone is aware Damascus refinishers are few and far between ,I know Brad frequents our site here ,maybe he will see the post and comment what he puts on the barrels after refinishing ! Thanks again John for the compliment on the gun ! Russ

Brad redid a GH two barrel set for me and I also was very pleased. He now has two more barrels to do and two guns to tighten up for me. Looking forward to getting them back- it kind of made my double gun rack get smaller. Paul

Dean , I couldn't agree more ,never did care much for the empty holes ! I am very glad I got the work done ! The one thing ,I really didn't care for was the very large after market beads ,the beads Brad made are much nicer , I took a Pic. of the front bead but the pic. was blurry so I didn't show it ! Russ

Brad just did a set 0f 6-iron damascus barrels for my 16-ga. Greener and they are absolutely fantastic. He told me the only product he uses to protect the finish is Watco Danish Oil, wiped on with a cotton cloth and wiped off with a paper towel. I'm doing it to all my damascus guns.

I have used Formby's Tung Oil- works fine- Watco sounds like the trade name for the Watkins products Co.- going back to the days of the Fuller brush salesman and the door-to-door Kirby vaccuum cleaners-
I have seen quite a few fine Parkers and other quality doubles my friend Brad has refinished/restored- his quality of workmanship speaks for itself indeed-
Ted- I bought some of the Green 12 Remington RST 1 & 1/8 shells- GM was having a rebate promotion- as soon as I have finished up the flat of RST 12 orange hulls I bought when I went with you and your gang to the Yooper last month- even when shooting an ejector gun I try to save them, and once I have a bunch of those green empties I'll ship them down your way for your reloading bench-
