I wonder who won the Fox HE on Gunbroker a few minutes ago for $9575 + premium?

I went to the shop in NH to examine the gun yesterday morning. That thing had .048" choke in one barrel and .049" in the other. I've never seen tighter chokes in an American SXS.

Most Super Foxes run .050. Choke. The prices have hit dot com bubble territory.

The high bidder was the same guy who came in second on the bobbed barrel ones little while ago that ended over 14K

+ premium? You mean shipping?

Unreal. Face it, Super Fox guns are the hottest ticket in town. Their popularity rising to the #3 spot behind cauliflower rice and Mama June!

I'll be toting one at Addieville next Saturday. I would advise you Parker boys to bring your respirators, that is if you have an aversion to inhaling diesel smoke!

BTW, while most of you are coloring eggs this fine Easter morn,, I'm draining my Clenzoil bottles and re-filling with salt water! :crying:

See you in Rhody........ :corn:

I wasn't aware that GB had no buyers premium.... but I should have known because I've bought a few on GB.

Stevie, you don't need to do that - just take any of your 95% condition Foxes and leave them exposed to the fine Swampscot salt air for 30+ years... it requires much less effort.

This Super-Fox is in much better condition than the first D.M. Lefever I ever handled. The Lefever had been sitting in the corner of a chicken house at Fishers Mill, Oregon, southeast of Portland, for about forty years!!

What was the rust like, Dean. Did it seem to be badly pitted metal or more surface rust that might clean up OK? The wood looked pretty good in the pictures. The ad said chokes were MOD and Full, I guessed they missed on that a bit!

I did an appraisal for a local fellow 2 months ago who bought an HE with 90% case color,98% barrel blue, and 32" barrels for $4000.He was worried that he paid too much for it.I had to tell him the truth about his gun,but it hurt.He does not want to sell it and plans to hunt with it. The sad thing is that he had it bought for $2000 and the seller upped the price on him. There are still some surprises out there.

Just surface rust but in the pictures it looked horrible... well, in hand it looked horrible too, but I could see that most of it was just "blossoms" of rust and would be easily cleaned. What a gun!!!

Sure

Now you say that. :corn:

Still a few unsold floating around the market.

I think Dean is right about this one cleaning up, it should be nice, but won't be pristine again

A couple have sold for unrealistic prices

Some are looking for the next deep pocket buyer

Some are out there at what may well be the new normal

Only time will tell -new plateau or the foot of the mountain

My predictions is there were a few hard core duck hunters with a bit of loose change as they say who had to have one. Those few decided their loose change was bigger then the other guys loose change. Once those few are satisfied, normalcy will return to the market. Those guns should be in the 5 to 6K market in decent condition. Also, you don't find many Super Collectors that want more then one or so (I admit there are certainly exceptions).

I thought I had already posted these 'after' pictures here that the new owner posted on another board. He says it cleaned up nicely in just a couple of hours.

If you don't remember what it looked like with the rust all over it I can post those pics too.

This gun had mint bores and was probably never fired much. If it didn't have the rust issues the sky would have been the limit on the value. I think they have only about 40 straight grip supers. There are other's out there that have been restocked, but this one is 100 percent original. Even has the leather covered Silvers' pad.

Hey Dennis

Welcome to the Parker board

You should enjoy it - more than a couple waterfowlers hanging around
