AH FOX Cutaway

Any idea what an AH Fox cutaway factory demo might be worth? I have no idea and will be viewing one that is for sale. Thanks!

Yes, a member of this board that is local to me owns one. A 1911 sterlingworth pin gun cutaway. In excellant condition. He says that not many examples exist of factory cutaways.

I have a nice A Grade that has full length barrels that have not been cut away and can be shot. In fact, I have shot it.

There are a few different versions, some have the stock and barrels cut short to make it easier for the salesman to carry around. Others have the barrels and stock intact and in fact are shootable, I think this version would carry more value.
Most were A grades I have a Sterlingworth pin version, I know of one other Sterlingworth.
As for price I have seen them betewwn 2-5 K at auctions.
The low end guns were cut.

MacIntosh's book has some serial numbers for cutaways, but more have appeared since then.

I've never had any interest in owning one. It would be nice for the A.H. Fox Collectors Association, Inc. to have one for displays. Back in the days when a high condition 12-gauge Sterlingworth was $500, I was offered a couple of different ones in the $700 range and passed. The pictures of the one McIntosh mentions where some industrious machinist filled in the holes were originally sent to me and I passed them on to Mike. Still waiting to get those pictures back!!
