With all the hunting he did does any know of a reference to Teddy Roosevelt owning a Parker?
Thanks,

Jay,
If memory serves me correctly, the Bull Moose was an Ithica man.

I thought he took a Fox on an African safari. Everyone knows a Fox is just a JV Parker anyway. Look at the early ones.

as in "Junior varsity"-- wow, I have a Utica 20 Sterly- fine gun, but not nearly as fine as the 16 BE with Krupp Flustahl barrels a friend has- As Teddy was a Col. in the Spanish-American War, and Fox's Sales manager was a Col. Roll- perhaps their military ties made Teddy a "Foxist"- Now Ithaca's, that was John P. Sousa I believe--:whistle:(and the monkey wrapped his tail around the flagpole- etc-- key of B flat most likely--:cool:

If I remember correctly Fox gave him an XE or something on that order before he went on Safari. Seems like there is only a sentence about it in his book "African Game Trails". Some buddies also went together and bought him a Holland and Holland double rifle. It sits at the Frazier Museum in Louisville KY. So does a flintlock owned by George Washington and some Colts owned by Custard. The details are muddy tonight....

Who was "Custard"?
"Muddy" may be the problem...

Maybe an off-side relative to Col. Mustard- the wizard of the game Clue? If you want a great read that highlights Teddy R. as police Commish- NYC 1890's era- read "The Alienist" written by Caleb Carr- also features some insights into the great DelMonicos restaurant, John Pierpont Morgan (aka- "Da Nose") and other Robber Barons of that era- Roosevelt was, like the later Elliot Ness- an "Untouchable" as to being bribed or influenced by corrupt politicans (are there any other kind?)--
