Just received this gun. Unfortunately, the letter search indicated this number is missing (darn!)
The gun appears to my rookie eye to be unmolested. The only thing I see which looks a bit strange is that the gun has red beads for both the mid and end beads. Was that an available option?

Not to my knowledge. Too early for that IMHO

The red beads were added by a previous owner. Any good gunsmith can replace them with ivory beads.

Were original Parker beads pressed in or threaded?

I tried to search in The Parker Story where I had read that some Parkers were ordered with the red beads but I couldn't find it... and I don't remember the time frame when they could be ordered on a gun. Maybe Chuck has run across such entries when researching the books... or maybe Mark Conrad remembers. I can't even remember the brand name of those red beads either but there is a reference in The Parker Story to the red beads.

Front bead looks like a Bradley, mid bead is a simple bead

There are real ivory beads that are dyed red. I have a set or two around.

I also have a very vague memory of red beads.
