On the airplane now heading back home after spending the week in Maine cataloging for Julia's. I reviewed a number of the fine American sporting guns in the sale and there are some great ones! The A1 Special 20ga is spectacular and truly one of the great Parkers of the world. It is easily the best A1 20ga I have seen.
There is also a DH 16ga factory 4 barrel set, a damn nice CHE 16ga w/ 30" barrels, several really nice SBT's and a near mint Parker 11ga hammer gun with original case!
Also consigned are 3 near mint V grade guns, one VHE, one VH and another that is truly a special order. It was ordered with a 16" LOP and 4" of drop and is documented in the letter as such. $10 upcharge for the stock! Thats the longest LOP I've ever seen and I think I'll add it to the Parker's Found. All three of these guns would make great guns to own for a collector to use to judge the originality of others by.
There is a wonderful Fox DE with first gen engraving, a killer early Lefever in about AA grade as well. A few fine LC Smith's as well including several fine Eagle Grades and others. Finally, the Parker drilling is a marvel. Glad we are finally able to piece together exactly what it is and how it was crafted.
The auction will take place April 11-13, right before the Southern. Catalogs should be out in 5 weeks. It'll be a good buying opportunity as there are some wonderful things in the sale.
