I was out and about yesterday and at a pawn shop I found some new hulls for sale. Thew were blue 12ga primed but unmarked as to brand. The base wad looked like a win AA. Has any body seen these and do they know who manufactures them.

could be the Peters blue magic shells from the 1980's, if so I had problems with them after reloading them a few times the hull would cut off at the brass when shot and the rest of hull would go down range. When taking out the empty all you would have was the brass in your hand.

Were those marked in any way either with a head stamp or something stamped on the plastic.

I think Blue Magic shells were head stamped with RP or similar ID. They loaded exactly like WWAAs. They are an excellent hull, every bit the equal of the AA. I still have a company comic book like loading brochure. I eventually trashed all mine through attrition as they SLOWLY wore out.

I have identical primed. low-brass blue shells, copper ring in primer pocket. One is marked "Imperial Made in Canada" and the other "Remington Peters." No markings on the plastic. No problems.

sounds like a rio or fiochi.
the star gives it away.
s&w made a dark blue hull in the early 80's but are marked S&W.
peters will be marked PETERS on the plastic hull casing.
heres a pic of current rios.

Those three hulls by Remington were great hulls Bob. Wayne, if they are only marked 12 with stars on the base they are more than likely a Euro-hull.

that pic was a pic from a post elsewhere I was part of, on the makings of the new sts and nitro 27.
someone wanted to see the transition side by side.
the blue magic is for all intents and purposes, the same as the new sts and nitro.
it is in my opinion, the new benchmark #1 reloadable hull in the usa.
Winchester drank the cool aid in my opinion.

I have been using win AA (once fired) for my reloads. If I remember correctly they were $10.00 a hundred. I can buy these new and primed at $8.00 a hundred. If I can use these with the same hull they would be a bargain.

I agree on the new AAHS hulls. The older AA comp. formed were good in their day but the new sts, nitro and gun clubs are the best yet.

I think 'king' nailed it. I had someone shooting those canadian hulls at my range last year. they were blue with stars. I used them to fill ruts in my driveway. they were very flimsy and I didn't dare chance loading them.
