Wonderful time meeting and talking with all my imaginary internet friends; Parker and otherwise. I particularly enjoyed talking vintage trap shooters and seeing some of Chris Lien's incredible collection of pictures

Great to put faces with names now; and here are a few

Can we hear a little about the banquet theme gun(s)? What was there and what won?

Mills Morrison

The banquet theme brought in a variety of great Parkers. No. 1 was a C grade 20 gauge hammer gun with (original) fluid steel barrels. No. 2 was Clark Gable's DHE. I can't remember no. 3 right now. My favorite was a Columbian Exposition gun with phenomenal engraving. Some people brought their first Parker. Some people brought family heirloom Parkers. It was an interesting mix.

Who was the speaker?

Mills Morrison
01-23-2017, 12:34 PM
Paul Dorsa, who is a longtime collector, PGCA life member and owner of the Clark Gable DHE. He gave a good talk

Did anyone think to record or videotape Paul's talk?

I don't think so

Special thanks to our nearly 80 banquet attendees who made the event fun and successful! It was especially nice to see so many new names and faces this year. I met a large number of members I have corresponded with over the years but hadn't met in person.

The People's choice was really quite neat. We had about 15 guns - everything from favorite hunting partners, to family guns, to minty collectors guns and everything in between. It was a gorgeous table set full of guns. Each special in a number of ways. Thank you to everyone who shared their treasure!!! Its the membership and the involvement of the members that make this organization great!

I'd like to see the PGCA go back to Vegas for the Annual meeting next year. Its a fun gun show with lots to see and good quality guns on offer. In my mind, Vegas has enough for spouses, and we have plenty of other shooting events throughout the year. It'll be up to our BOD and I know (as they always do) they will make the decision that is best for the group.

Mills did you spend all your gun money on the slots or did you buy something new to bring back to Ga.

Good time as always. Dr. Drew helped me measure my barrels, probably would have been smarter to do before i bought the gun...LOL but absolutely no regrets. Was good to meet everyone and can't beat taking a day off work to admire fine guns especially parkers.

I bought a VH 20.

Not that I had any gun money to spend, but I have until my credit card is due to come up with the money.

The show was very good. I noticed that there were not as many $100k plus guns in the hall as there have been in the past....

As well, this is a show you need to take your time with and carefully review each table because typically the quality and price points are high. A couple of my buddies walked right past Kermit Roosevelt's Parker VHE 20ga . Sitting with that gun was some Roosevelt ephemera and Teddy's Bowie knife which recently sold at $400k+ publicly.

A good friend of mine is another gentleman who collects skeet guns- he was walking out of the show and I bumped in to him on my way back in to the show from a stop back at the Julia booth. He expressed disappointment in the show but he walked right past the best pair of DHE skeets I've seen in a long time. I brought him over to show him the guns, introduced him to the seller and a deal was made shortly thereafter!

I havn't bought a new gun in at least a month. I am starting to go into withdraw.

The credit card police notified me of the purchase and I had to tell them it was me. Another fun moment was when the airline stewardesses started passing out barf bags before one of the flights home. Then I heard there was a tornado in our path and they expected turbulence.

Seriously, it was a great show and a great meeting and anyone who has not gone to this show owes it to themselves to give it a try. Like Josh says, there was a lot of good stuff if you took the time to look

I got home late yesterday afternoon from the Vegas Gun Show and this is how I found my driveway. I own the snow blower and the neighbor uses it on his driveway and mine. (Good Deal)

We sold a few Shotguns and other "Good Stuff," we bought three Shotguns just so we would not go home with too much money. Top Gun is a F? Grade Model 32 Remington, with interesting history. Middle gun is a CHE Parker on 1 1/2 frame with some condition. Also sports a nice duck on the bottom. This gun looks to me to be a very nice Parker. Bottom gun is a Model 21 Winchester Trap that is not so heavy as most. All guns 12 Ga. I did see several VH Parker 20s some sold, some did not.

I am old and slow so I did miss some of the show, "Big Show" with lots to see.

The banquet was a good time and Paul Dorsa was at the top of his game. I did enjoy meeting all the members, Only regret was not doing a sit down discussion with Phillip Carr on Parker Skeet guns. Maybe next year.

Most memorable moment was when I came upon two Parker members leaving a table with an 8 Ga. hammer gun in hand. The other guy had the money they had the gun. The look on these two "Noble PGCA Members" Face was a sight I will not soon forget…

My neighbor dug enough of the snow plow berm away on the north driveway that we could get in, and I finished it that afternoon. Yesterday we finally punched a hole through the berm on the main driveway. Should be warm enough we can chop the rest of it away this weekend.
