I saw in a Dupont ad that M P Gentry Hillman tied for 4th and 5th in the
1914 Grand American Handicap, shooting Dupont powder. Are there records
as to what gun he shot for that shoot?

Jeff: From 1895 through the 1902 GAH at Inanimate Targets, Sporting Life reported the gun, powder and shells used by competitors in most major shoots, and the information can be gleaned using the la84foundationarchives
http://search.la84foundation.org/search?site=default_collection&client=default_frontend&output=xml_no_dtd&proxystylesheet=default_frontend&proxycustom=

Much of the information is here

I did have links to the Sporting Life pages, almost none of which work now since the site was "upgraded" :(

After 1902, about the only way to confirm guns used is through the ads in Sporting Life and other sporting magazines

Sam Huntley and J.B. Platt mentioned in the 1915 Forest & Stream and then in a Parker ad

Drew,
Thanks.
Odds are that the gun I have wasn't still being used for competition 10 yrs after it was ordered.
