Picked up a WW Greener F grade 10 gauge with fluid steel barrels a week or two ago ! Barrels need a reblue and the old Pachmayer White Line needs to go . But it oughtta be alright !

The muzzles measure .715" and .720" the underside of the tubes are stamped "11" .

I've not shot it much maybe 20 times all with handloaded buckshot . The 00000 , 0000 , 000 and 00 didn't do so well . 0 did very well as did #1 #2 and #3 .

Congratulations!!! Enjoy her.
I picked up an FH35 12Ga in the beginning of the year and I am impressed by the quality.

How do you get along with the safety on the side ?

Well so far I've had it while sitting on stand waiting for deer loaded with buckshot so the safety's not an issue in that application . Now as far as a goose getter that remains to be seen . I have another Greener I've had for over forty years but it has a more normal tang safety and I've shot that one oncand off since I was 14 .

This jewel weighs 10 pounds 1 1/2 ounces on my postal scales . If memory serves my Greener 12 gauge is right at 7 pounds are maybe a skoosh under .

Looks like this one could use a good strip-and-clean, some attention to the rust on the frame, and perhaps a barrel re-finish. Otherwise, a great find with good screws, and from what I can see, a solid stock.

I think that the dark spots on the frame are old lacquer. Should clean right off with a solvent dipped rag. Looks like a great old gun. Greener's are always well made, high quality guns.

The last Greener I owned looked terrific on the outside but when I took it to my local gunsmith to tear it down, inspect and clean the internals we discovered the interior was full of rust. The Brits over the years I'm told have unloaded many of their doubles to the American market and given the wet field conditions that many of these guns may have been exposed to over there I think it's just a good prudent measure to tear them down as I had done to make sure the internals are every bit as good as the name makers reputation. Once we cleaned my Greener up, I had many great outings with it and enjoyed it immensly

Already cleaned it up a bit . The barrels will be rust blued sometime in mid to late January . My gunsmith buddy is waiting for another set to arrive he likes doing two sets of barrels at the same time . Plus I wanted this one at my disposal until the end of the season .

The Greener side safety is an abomination, cured only by deactivating it. An exposed hammer Greener is a dream.

I have used my Greener only for sporting clays thus far and I have not had a problem with it. I guess it should not be a big problem if hunting over pointing dogs and as they say...things get easier with practice. BillK

Not to highjack the thread, but here is a link of my post with before and after pics of my Greener. They do clean up really nice. :)http://parkerguns.org/forums/showthread.php?t=19346&highlight=greener

That one looks like it has some really nice wood in the but stock. I have a greener and I like mine except the ejectors. The shells hit me in the forehead every time I forget about it having the ejectors. Which is about every time I pick up the gun.

Enjoy your Greener!!! I never found the side safety to be a problem once I got used to using it.
