A Columbian Exposition gun (TPS) just in to me last week - A few pics I hope you all enjoy.

12 gauge 30 inch Bernard barrels - Skeleton Butt - DT - splinter - as found appears untouched in any way. Certainly looks H. Gough engraved. Extensive detail - cell phone pictures - all I have. Perfect Duck dimensions with 3" DAH. Well used not abused. Most likely has sat in a family closet for numerous decades. I will get the cob webs out of her soon!

Shipped to E.K.Tryon Jr. & co. in Philidelphia at the end of the fair and the trail runs cold from there. I would appreciate any info that could be shared on this gun. PM or reply to this thread. Thanks in advance -Its much appreciated.

If it had the single bead behind the fences it could easily be a BH. Nice early engraving motifs and unusual for a CH. Exceptionally nice!! Thanks for sharing that one.
Please show us the wood when you get a chance.

Paul - not from Brad's ....as far as I know - it may have come through there before it got to me but i dont think so.

Dean - Good eye! I forgot to mention the fishtail !

Gee Mark, you sure have good taste in doubles.

Did those ducks engraved on the right side of the receiver have any influence in your decision? I suspect some real ones (ducks) will be lying at your feet soon using that gun.

Very, very nice.

Bill-

It was a "love at first sight" moment.

First the ducks:shock:..... then the dogs:shock:....then the barrels:shock:.....

I was prepared to overpay!

That gun was coming home with me!!!

Just imagine the look on your hunting buddies faces when you pull that out of the case.

Mike -

My buddies (or Brothers as I usually refer to them) were all smiles at first showing. I brought it to the Marsh this weekend and all were proud that it is in "the room". I expect the gun (if it could) would be beaming with its new found attention and adoration.

Few things make me smile more than seeing these old guns rise from the darkness of a closet or hard case to a sunrise full of duck calling and whistling wings.

Second to that is the ability to share one with friends and acquaintances across the entire country via this site. I (like many) visit these pages almost every day. I know I am not alone in finding much enjoyment through pictures and descriptions of these old guns as they resurface for their next chapter.

A good friend once told me "We are not the owners of these guns. Just custodians and caretakers for a while." I believe there is much truth to that.

I am already thinking about - and hunting for - the next one!!!

Nice Find! The gun looks like my D grade Lifter but with better engraving. I love the skeleton butt and Bernard pattern barrels. Thanks for sharing.
