I have been looking at the below pictured guns for some time and the recent thread on the high priced high condition Remington era Parker on GI helped me make the decision to purchase them.

1 is 239794 Parker 12 gauge GHE 30" barrel with a 1 1/2" frame. It has been in a local collectors hands for about 30 years. It is in excellent condition retaining most case color with exception of around the Parker engraved on the bottom. Barrels stamped 3lb 12oz and currently weigh 3lb 7oz, total weight 7lb 11oz. It has a Jostam pad with a LOP of 14 3/8". What is unique about this gun beyond the excellent condition is the raised solid rib. Pictures 8-11 are of this gun.

2 is 242366 Parker 12 gauge GHE 30" barrel with 1 1/2" frame out of the same collection. This gun is SPECTACULAR. I can not say enough about its condition. Case color and blue are arguably 98%+++ condition. The wood has a few scratches and dings but this is by far the finest original condition Parker I have held in my hands. Barrels stamped 4lb 2oz and currently weigh 3lb 5oz, total weight 7lb 7oz. Picture 12 is the barrel flat of this gun.

I want to thank Dean Romig again for helping me with quite a few question on Remington Parker's. Everybody needs a little help every now and then!

Thanks Brian, I'm glad to have been a help. You have acquired two wonderful Parkers.

Brian, the condition of both guns is outstanding and the wood spectacular. I'm sure there is a line forming already to buy those guns should you ever decide to relinquish them. You are a fortunate steward of those Parkers. Craig

Nice guns! The transition from the flat rib to the receiver is pretty crude for a factory job though. The examples I have seen before tapered in like a vent rib. Maybe Murphy can comment, or even share a photo :rotf:

What a wonderful pair of late Parkers.

I decided to take more pictures of the rib, everything looks original in finish. As you can see it finishes at the muzzle below the top of the barrels. I assume it to be original but i will bow to the experts.

I don't recall how the breech end of the rib was finished on the CHE pictured in The Parker Story. Who owns that one now?
