I can only imagine:whistle: Well you enjoy shooting those clay targets. I'm going after more meaningful targets. As Chris Kyle said "I do better when it breathes" :)

Leave Thursday for Wyoming to do varmint control. Seven rifles and several thousand rounds of ammo from a 22 Hornet to a 25 WSSM all designed towards turning prairie dogs into mush. Some scouting activities as well as the end of Sept it's back to the same ranch but with a 25/06 and the 275 Rigby for deer and antelope. Antelope steaks taste better than boiled clay targets:rotf:

Rich, is your .275 a Rigby? Good luck and have a good time.

Bill it's a custom made rifle. I put pictures of it on the forum. Same smith that did Gunner's Parker did it.

For those who will be going to the Northern/Rock Mtn event - please keep in mind that gents are paying to shoot a TOURNAMENT with dedicated score keepers, and for Fox shooters in particular there are the plaudits for the association's annual championships. Gents will be trying to shoot their best. Now, for example, let's say you're driving down the hill and you see some people you know, shooting at a station nearby the road. It's bad form to park your car there and interrupt the group and the concentration of the guy who's up shooting or of the next shooter in queue. :nono: And how do you make up for your interruption if one of them misses a bird there and he loses the tournament by one bird? Surely it's nice to catch up with friends while at SxS events but there's a time and place for that, and cutting in to chat while a mixed squad of friends/random people are shooting at a tournament station isn't the time nor place.

Good point Frank...

But like they say, "Sporting Clays is nothing more than Golf with a shotgun." And it seems to get more and more so.

David - Mike has some great stations! No shooting through and around trees but they are challenging enough without the obstacles!! And if you shoot a decent score you know you've accomplished something special!

Rich, I find that boiling the targets does nothing but make them tougher. The bio targets are just plain nasty due to the sulphur. The standard AAs are pretty good if you cook them on a grill with indirect heat and use some smoke, kind of like doing venison. The all black standards are even better. All dark meat with a slight piquant tang to them. Good for chili and stewing. Besides, Black Targets Matter!!! Have fun and we'll be sure you receive your hard earned trophy when you get back home. :bigbye:
