I have a DHE 12 ga 1917 that has been discussed at length in the thread "DHE dogs head buttplate" and the gun needs some work to repair a crack in the forend. It also needs help from a gunsmith because the forend does not lock. I have several DHE repro and they all open after firing and reset the safety. I fired this gun once and it would not open until the safety was manually turned on. If there is a resident "expert" in either the high country of NC or the low country of SC I would like someone to look at the gun and help evaluate where I might send it for repairs. Thanks for all your help.

Scott: I second David's post. Jim Kelly is your man. His shop is @ 5 miles off I-20 right on Hwy #52 just outside Darlington, SC and very near the I-95 / I-20 intersection.
Best Regards, George
