i hope some one can answer this question. about what grade of gun would a forearm release be off ofthat is completely covered in engravings.i have looked up to the B grade but it is above this grade of gun.im talking about the small release at end of forearm.appears to be off a truly high grade gun have never seen so much engraving on the release part before.the parker books do not show the release piece good enough totell what grade of gun its off of either.this pieace im talking about is the one you stick finger under to pull forearm off. it is off parker brothers gun. thanks charlie

Charlie,
I'm not sure if you are referring to the forend tip or the release lever but you could look at the grades page of the website that Robin put together and see examples of every grade. The engraving on high grade guns was not standard like D and below tended to be so it would be difficult to determine grade by engraving. Dose the piece happen to have the serial number stamped on the back side?

Charlie,

Here are two suggestions that might give you some insight. First, if you are talking about the tip of the forend, there is an album "Examples of Parker Forend Tip (http://parkerguns.org/forums/album.php?albumid=122) " (click this link) that has examples of tips to look at. If you let the mouse "sit" on top of a picture that is a close match the grade of your gun in question, it should show the grade of the gun in the album the tip was on. To get a better look at a picture, simply click on it and it will enlarge.

Also, in the " Parker Grades" link off our parkerguns.org page, you can look at the high grades there. I know there are forend latches pictured. Again, click on a picture to see it enlarged.

If you can post a picture of the one in question I'm sure you will get opinions on its grade.

Charlie, I collect Parker forends and tips. If you would like to put a price on your tip, I would be glad to "help you out". Email me at wilmrph@verizon.net Maybe you could send me a picture at that email address or post a picture here.

Charlie: This is from the Parker Grades tab on the opening page of the forum. No image for an Invincible. This is next highest grade - A1 Special. Nice find if it looks like these. Jack

I am always shocked at the number of irreplacable parts that somehow become seperated from high grade Parkers.

I collect as many as I can too but have yet to reconnect any of my spare parts with the gun they were made for.

Yes, it is worth $100, or would be to me anyhow.

You should have no trouble getting your money out of it if you end up with it. Yes, it would be worth that much to me.

I have a question about these latch releases. From previous posts I believe this is a patented Deeley release and I think I have seen them on guns other than Parker. Fully engraved is a high end gun but is it necessarily Parker? Is there some way to tell? I know the full serial number is stamped on the back of one I currently have removed for clean up. Did other gun makers stamp the full serial number on theirs?? Still learning.
Cheers,
Jack

Charlie: A clear picture of the backside with serial number will go a long way toward identifying the grade of gun, provided it is a Parker and in the serialization book. Looking forward to seeing the pictures. Jack
