Greetings and hello from sunny California.

Like I am sure many others I "found" a Parker Damascus barreled shotgun in a bunch of guns my dad stored at my house many years prior to his death.

Done a bit of research and not being a shotgun guy (1911's are more my love) I am a bit confused on what I have.

The shotgun...

Damascus barreled double with Parker Bros Makers Mariden Conn Damascus Steel on the center rib. Overall condition is used and it shows its age. Some case hardening on the receiver when the action is open and everything is tight. It does have ejectors - and seems to work as designed. Wood is good with some feathering in the grain. bottom of pistol grip has a brown cap with Parker Bros Meriden Conn and the butt plate has a dog with Parker Bros on it.

Serial number is 84544 and seems to be matching on receiver, barrel and foregrip

Only real issue is the bulge on the left side barrel about 8 inches from the muzzle...a classic ops by a previous owner.

So, what do I have here? Pictures are washing out the color a bit. The barrel and receiver are a bit darker. Are there any pictures I can take that will help ID this gun?

A few more pictures. From what I have found here I have a Grade 2 gun. Yea? No?

It has a quite a bit of old dried oil on it. Later tonight I will carefully clean it off using Hoppes #9 or something similar.

In the last picture are these considered the ejectors I keep reading about?

Yes. You have a GH or grade 2. I see extractors not ejectors in the last pic

A nice momento to go along with your dads gun would be a letter from the PGCA.

Well, that would be nice if it were in fact my dad's gun. From what I have found out from my mom, a square dancer widow friend of theirs gave it to my dad once her husband had died.

Might be some interesting history there.
