Bert and Triple on deck and standing watch for Russian submarines or MiG passes. I have my old hammer Parker at the ready.
The armed services have been reduced so much I figure they need our help and I am ready to be recalled.

I hope you're toting the pearl-handled, crew-served anti-aircraft weapon I gifted you for just such occasions....

Jim Beilke makes these boats if anyone else is interested.
Here is my protection against close fly bys of Rooskie jets , or it will be when I can get a new roll of high explosives. It's genuine ivory plastic handled, not sissified mother of pearl.
This was made in America , not China.

Spoken like a true "blood n' guts" American.

Roger that Dean. That would be Bruce. I figured that the efficient belt feed system on that little jewel would allow Bruce to rapidly engage multiple targets and increase his chances of survival.

It will prove to be another wonderful event and will be topped off with the Parker Foundation's third annual Hall of Fame Induction which will feature Mr Charles Herzog as an inductee and will have part of his fabulous Parker collection on display.
I sure wish I could be there!

Great wood boat. I love mine. There's no comparison of a wood boat to a Tupperware boat. Sort of like a Stradavaris (sp?) v an electric guitar.

I have a cedar strip solo canoe which I love. Bruce, just looking at the front of yours is it a guide boat style? Beautiful and I love the guard dogs...... Both keeping "watch".

Here's a boat I built about 7-8 years ago. Not a strip boat, but a Stitch and Glue design

It is a 17 ft square stern Rangely Lakes Guide Boat made by Jim Beilke , Jims Boats, of Minnesota. Five different woods, old growth redwood, fir strips, mahogany , ash and maple from his farm. Hand carved oars and leather wrapped. A 10hp really scoots the boat, seldom use over 80 percent throttle.

My dogs have always liked to perch themselves up on the bow even at moderate speed. My Lab, Tobie, would even sit right up on that little triangle at the bow with her ears blown back by the wind rushing by.

A friend of mine makes wooden boats designed after the Southern river boats from the Ogeechee and other rivers. Hand made wooden boats are beautiful.

Bruce, your comments about the Rooskies fly by brought back a few memories of being buzzed by our own air force while we were cruising close and slowly just off the DMZ waiting for targets to be spotted and called in. We locked on and were tracking, our friendlies dropped chaff to jam our radar. When I was given the order to fire down in main battery plot, our 5 inch 54's had slewed into the stops. That same night the Australian GM Destroyer HMS Hobart took a air to surface rocket in her aft missle room and killed 7 sailors. We were lucky that night that no friendlies fired on us. Your boat is beautiful and classic looking.
