The Central Pa SxS shoot was blessed with perfect weather this past Saturday. Not a cloud in the sky, temperature was in the mid 70’s by day’s end, with a strong breeze making the targets a bit of a challenge.

Officially there were 37 shooters signed up to shoot the Sporting Clays course and I know of a few shooters who only shot the 5 stand course or Wobble trap so in total, there were about 40 shooters attending.

Shooters were here from PA, NY, NJ, MD, and VA and guns used were Parkers, LC Smiths, Winchesters, Iver Johnson, Lefevers, Beretta, Browning BSS’s, Fox, DeHaan, CZ, Remington, and English guns to include Churchill, P. Webley, and Lancaster.

It was fun seeing old friends again and making new friends. I got to meet Mike (Utah Shotgunner) from the Dbl gun web site, and Craig Smith from Circle Fly Wads along with his buddy Mark Flaharty. Craig, along with making card and fiber wads is now also refinishing Damascus barrels and he had some examples to show. Dewey Vicknair and Craig Libhart were there offering advice on repairs and stockwork.

My thanks to everyone who attended and especially to the staff at Blue Ridge Sportsman’s Club for making our stay an enjoyable one.

I’ll post pictures soon and hope to see everyone next year.

Chuck, sorry I didn't make it. A long planned family gathering caused Linda to threaten my welfare if I didn't attend. Those are great shots of shot clouds heading for the target.

Bill,

"She who must be obeyed" always has the ultimate power to decide what we do. At least that's my experience.

Robert Rambler is responsible for those pictures of shot clouds. I believe he sets his camera on continous mode then picks out the best picture from the group. Maybe he can chime in and give us some pointers.

See you at Hausmann's.
