I have a 20 ga repro But I,m shopping for a 28 ga found a straight stock BTFE single trigger 26" Q1 & Q2 average wood has been hunted with would rate maybe 70 percent case is a little rough no dust cover , does not appear to have been shot much but most of case color mostly gone from carrying I realize condition is everything what price range should this fall in . I have been following sales of better quality guns ,but nothing similar to this but its the the same as my 20 and what im looking for just wish it was in better condition Thank You for any opions Don Morgan

Better that you tell us how it is priced, then ask if the price is reasonable.

There asking 3600 wont move on it Ive seen nicer guns for 4200 and nib for 5000 ,3600 seemed a little high but i havent been watching the repro market lately since i bought my 20 if condition was better i would already own it looks like it was dropped forearm has dents in it that will never come out stock has scratches that could be fixed wood is nice grain but light

Seems like a good price for straight grip with BTFE, and the Q1/Q2 are somewhat rare and quite useful...

Don, the gun you describe is priced exactly right but only you can decide it’s value as those are two very different things.

I’d buy it too - good luck

The condition that you described, I would buy it too. Where are you going to find a quality 28 gauge for that kind of money, you won't...

Chiming in again...
My personal preference is double triggers but considering all of that gun's other attributes, a single trigger is definitely not a deal breaker.

We all would like to see some pictures of it when it's yours.

When you said "it looks like it was dropped forearm has dents in it that will never come out", I would recommend that you take a close 2nd look as that would really bug me. If these dents really can't be removed, I'd continue to have fun continuing the search. In the meantime I'd shoot 3/4oz. loads out of your 20-ga. gun while muttering to myself "hey, it's just like a shooting a 28" until the right 28 comes along. They are out there . . .

Or have a good wood guy make them disappear. It's a shooter, not a safe queen, and you'll probably put your own scars on her in the years ahead. Half the case color is gone from my Repros and Kathy's has some of the barrel blue worn off from carrying but they are delightful guns to carry all day long in the uplands and are great little skeet guns. Nobody has ever criticized mine for showing signs of use and I do love to use them.

A good rule of Thumb for me is ,if I am questioning the gun before the purchase , I better keep looking ,the fun is in the hunt !!!!!!!!!! Just MY Opinion :)

A lot of opinions for "I haven't seen it yet". All negatives, no positives, keep looking and don't drive so far. They're all on the internet.

If this one is in fact still available I wouldn’t let it go if it’s the gun you want.

I kind of doubt this gun is still available as this thread was first posted 7 years ago. But who knows, maybe it’s available again?

Unless the wood grain is broken, wood dents can usually be steamed out. I've done it. Of course the wood may have to be refinished

If someone has a nice 28ga Repro for $3600 they want to sell me, I'm all in. :D

Seven years. This reminds me of old men shooting skeet with guns with automatic safeties.

Well, Allen it's questionable whether or not the original poster will heed your advice, as it's been 3 1/2 years since he last logged into this forum.

This post is like watching a good movie, and missing the last 10 minutes of it. Did Don ever buy it or not, hmm? Lots of suspense!!
