I have been a hunter for many years carrying pumps, O/U's and auto's but fell in love with the side by side a number of years ago. I have a couple of very nice spanish guns and recently but sadly acquired from an Uncle a couple of LC Smiths and a Parker. The Parker is a VH 16ga made in 1915 with 28" bbls, chambered for 2½" shells. Now, a question I have is that the frame size is on the barrel lug with my gun stamped X 1. So the frame is a size 1 but I cannot find anywhere what the x might signify. I guess I should post pictures and ask this question in another forum but figure I would start here. Thank you. Bob

The X is merely a proof mark as the frame size is 1 gun should weigh @ 7 lbs or slightly less

Igore the x, nobody knows what it means. The size 1 frame is pretty much the default size frame for a 16ga. gun.

Clarksburg, between Trenton and the shore.
