These are from a recently acquired PH and are 28 inches.

Any ideas on the production of 1 1/2 frame 20's?

Probably about the same as 2-frame 20-gauges --

James,

Is there a 2 or 1 stamped on the forend loop? Indicating it was part of a two barrel set?

Frame sizes were rarely, if ever, recorded by Parker Bros. or may have been entered on the end of the page of the books that were unable to be copied due to the limitations of the copying machine used. You will probably never see reference to the frame size in a PGCA research letter.

That is true in the records but you may see total weigh of the gun requested, I think maybe Chuck could chime in here. Look at the barrel weight 3 15 that's one heavy barrel for a 20 ga. Someone may have ordered it for a waterfowling gun.

Brian. I don't believe so.

James, do you have a PGCA letter yet?

James Palmer

Yes. It letters as 28 inch 20 ga PH.

OK,

My thought was it may have been a 12/20 set originally.
But it was likely just ordered as a heavy 20g.

Craig...I will have to check.

Brian...that's a really good idea. Does anyone have an extra set of 12 ga 1 1/2 frame twist barrels they r willing to sell?

1 1/2 frame Twist barrels are scarce. Vulcan Steel are much easier to find.

Only the last 3 or 4 stock books show frame sizes. They are included in the letter. It would be rare to find frame size request in the order books. You do sometimes see the abbreviation "lte" meaning they wanted a light gun. I think Parker just used the overall requested weight to determine what size frame to use.

Regrettably..I have decided to put up for sale.

Details in for sale forum.

i think somebody forgot to bore those big heavy 20 gas out to a 12 ga...really both these guns are really nice...if i had the money that 1 1/2 frame 20 would be at my house...would make a fine squirl gun to tote around....charlie
