Has anyone seen this forearm iron treatment before? It is on a non original beavertail sans through bolt. Obviously to stabilize the heavier beavertail forearm under recoil. Any info would be appreciated.

No, I've never seen that treatment before.
Have you removed the iron to see the underside?

I have seen that once before on a customers gun that i was refinishing. It was a PHE 16g. But it was a splinter forend. Obviously it is not original. But that gun and yours were both modified unnecessarily by the same hand.
And the quality of the inletting on your forend looks to be the same as the gun i speak of, very crude.

Kinda reminds me of the lug on Fox beavertail equipped guns.

I've never seen it on a Parker but I have a couple of Foxes that have it for reinforcing.

You have to do what you have to do. I have a Parker with a similar reinforcement which performs the service it was designed to perform.

Dean, I have not removed the iron from the wood yet. I will do so tomorrow when I'm at my bench with good tools.
Brian, this one is from a 16 PHE also. It is stamped with a number 2, so apparently from a two barrel set. Perhaps the customer you did the work for would like to acquire this. I do plan on putting it in the Lost and Found thread.
