I plan to be in Chandler, AZ in January of 2016 and am thinking of taking my brother-in-law shooting sporting clays for his first time. I did a web search and found The Rio Salado Sportsman’s Club which "seems" to be nearby. Does anyone have any experience to share about shooting there or could you recommend another location that has a good course and a patient enough environment for a beginner.

I'm a member at Rio, great Sporting Clay's course, Wobble on Tuesday, 5 Stand on Saturday and Sunday and regular trap Monday, Wednesday, Thursday and Friday. We have a small token station for the beginner shooter up by the club house and it's great to help teach/show new shooters about the shotgun and safety.
Great group of members, we'd love to have you come and visit.
PS: I shot Bunker on Thursday Mornings at Ben Avery.

Well, I'm back home. I had a great trip and did make it to shoot some sporting clays with my brother-in-law at Rio. Very impressive facility. It was a much different geography for me and the clay presentation was challenging. Good fun for me and I introduced him to a new sport.
Thank you for your input.

Sorry to say, yes only one. I was shooting and teaching two pistol shooters about sporting clays, so I guess this one picture was all I took, and that was on one of the last stations.
