Does anyone have a set of Galazan .410 barrels for a 28 gauge Repro that have not been installed? I would be interested in purchasing a set.

Bill I'm only aware of two sets, Pat's and mine.

Are they available for sale?

mine are not for sale, but they work flawlessly after Bill Schwartz fittted
them to the 28 gauge repro, but I cant believe that CSMC only made 2 sets, surly at some price they would sell you
a set.

Mine are not for sale either. Mine made for a well balanced, if heavy, 6 1/2 lb gun.

I somehow have a number like $4k in memory that CSM had on them after they said they had them in stock.

Actually Chuck, in the Galazan catalogs #16, 17 & 18 they were listed at $4800.00/set--and that did not include fitting . . . wonder if they were overwhelmed with orders at that price? They were no longer listed in catalog #19 which was recently sent out.

I've been toying with the idea of taking a DHE two barrel (28ga) set, adding a set of 410 Briley tubes and having a dedicated 28 / 410 set. Both barrels are 28". The economics of creating a set of 410 barrels would be a plus....the added weight might be a minus. Has anyone else had experience with adding Briley tubes (or other manufacture) to a set of 28gauge barrels.....and with what results / thoughts?

I've got a set of 28 -.410 Chambermates. The Chambermates only weigh a total of 2.4 ounces and have 3" chambers. They work just great, in the field and on the range, ejects spent hulls like a champ and have never failed. I find that they double my pleasure and double my fun without being weighty, cumbersome or pricey.

1. Shown below with .410 3" shells for size comparison.
2. How slick they fit in their case within my Po' Man's Parker's case.
3. Their effectiveness.

That's a good suggestion. Are there any issues with heavy usage? We have a Collard / Eurasian Dove area where you can go through 2-3 cases of shells over a 2 day period. I did a quick web search and it appears Seminole isn't selling product at this time.

Ray, I've read satisfactory reports about using Chambermates for high volume dove shooting in Argentina, however; my personal usage of them has been limited to perhaps 4 rounds of skeet/outing or a round of sporting clays/day. Since purchased I probably have a grand total of 4-5 flats of shells shot through them and have replaced the rubber o-rings just one time.

Wild Skies - Thanks for the input. I'll be on the lookout for a set of 410 Chambermates.

I've had experience with the chamber mates, in fact I'm looking at a pair of 12/20's right now. The biggest problem I've seen with them is they are held in by an o-ring and the heat from shooting causes the o-ring to get hard and then the chamber mates pop out of the barrel when you extract shells. If you are willing to change the rings often you probably won't have any other problems.

Just put a set of 16 to 28 ga. in a 0 frame hammer gun and went quail hunting. They fit tight and worked well. I like the 28 to 410 idea. Dave

I too, have 16 to 28 Gauge Chambermates: At the time I bought them, I bought extra "O" rings (probably a standard size). I like them, and shoot them in a Customized Fox Sterlingworth.

Would the Factory Repo 410 Barrels bring a premium price over the Galazan 410?

Tommy; I am waiting for the storm of comments on this: I would guess, before the guys comment who actually OWN a set, that Factory Repo's are of course, worth more. But they are All so rare; I expect any of them are worth a lot.

I'm sure the factory barrels are worth more, but I think they are mostly all on guns by now. I think some Galazan barrels were bought on spec and are still uninstalled. I would like to have a set of either.

Bill, it'd be interesting to hear if you run across any other CSM 410 barrels. For sale or not. I'm suspicious very few were made.

We know that none were made until CSMC had received prepaid orders for at least a minimum of twenty or twenty-five as I recall.
