I have a 10 ga hammer gun made on the #3 frame made in 1888. It has Stub Twist barrels and some light engraving of some lines and a scroll on the lock plates. Of course there is no grade stamp on the water table. I have and read "The Parker Story" and I'm sure it's either a grade 0 or 1.
My question is: Is the only way to tell which grade it is to get a "letter" and see what the selling price of the gun was and compare it to a catalog for the grade? I'm going to get the letter anyhow because I'm curious who it was shipped to and any other history that may come out of the records.
