Can anyone tell me about the abundance, or lack there of, of 20ga top action hammers made in the 1880's-1890's? What configurations, grades and frame size are most common? I have an 1886 D grade 1 frame 12ga top lever fishtail and would like to start looking for similar gun in 20ga. What can one reasonably expect to pay in good condition? Do 20ga barrels only to fit my current gun ever come available?

I posted that information some time back. Look at this thread's post

But I see one error, there is one B, grade 5, grade top lever 16ga that should be reflected in the table.

Looked at the chart and it seems I'd have more luck finding a 16ga (1109) top lever hammer than a 20ga (41). Thanks.

20g hammer guns are very rare and most woild be top action. However, some lifters are out there.

Yes, you would be more likely to find a 0 frame 16g hammer gun, though they are on the rare side too.
