Gents, I've read that some of you are reloading industrial hulls for 8 gauge guns. Just to let you know I was at the Allentown PA Gun Show today and saw a flat of Gamebore factory 8 gauge shells for sale. The table price was $50. per box of 10 which sounded pretty steep but what do I know? I got the gent's contact info for anyone interested but, sorry, I lost the card somehow. Anyway, in case this is new info - loaded 8 gauge shells are apparently available from Gamebore. The back side of the box had a statement that shells must be used only in guns proofed for 950 bars. To save you the math, that's about 13,800 psi.

High price but factory 8 gauge shells are rare as hens teeth. This is why I am getting into reloading

I don't believe Gamebore is still loading eight gauge shells. This flat probably started life on the gun show circuit at the Chantilly, VA show a year or so ago. The fellow who had them also had a high condition Davenport single which I bought. I stalled on the purchase of the shells and someone else beat me to the punch. I believe the last Gamebore eights were a run of smokeless Bismuth for Marshall Field lV. They were probably loaded to feed his eight bore Purdeys. They are beautiful black Remington hulls with personalized boxes identifying them for use at one of the Field estates.
