I understand that Parker selected the guns frame size based on the desired wt. of the finished gun. Does anyone have an idea or educated guess the percentage of 12's on 3 frame, 2 frame, 1 1/2, or 1 ? What about the percentage of 16's on a 2, 1, or 0 frame ? Just wondering ! Dan

Here is my wild ace guess based on limited experience. 12 gauge fluid steel guns: #3, 1%. #2, 37%, #1 1/2, 52%, #1, less than 10%.
16 gauge, steel barrel guns: #2, 1%, #1, 62%, #0, 37%.
12 gauge on #1/2 and #6 frame, way less than 1%.
16 gauge on #3 frame, way less than 1%.

Bill Does your wild ass guess on frame size also apply to Damascus barrels or would the percentage be different ?

Fluid steel barrels only. I am dead serious abuut my wild ace guess on fluid steel guns, however.

Frame size isn't an absolute as to finished gun weight. There is a long barrel 12-gauge trap style gun built on 1/2 frame that goes over 8 pounds. I know a 2 frame 12-gauge with 32-inch barrels that weighs over nine pounds and a 3-frame 12-guage with 30-inch barrels that weighs 8 pounds 8 ounces. The Brothers P. did many weird and wonderful things with weight and balance.

My fluid steel #6 frame ten weighs over 13 pounds, and my #3 frame fluid steel 16 weighs just under 9 pounds. Yup, weird and wonderful.

Any percentage guesses on frame sizes across the board would be nothing but pure speculation.
Only general statements can be made such as that in 12g: 1/2 frame is obviously the rarest. 1 frame is made in lower quantities. 2 frame was more common than 1-1/2 frame on earlier guns but then visa versa on later guns.
