Angel, I looked at the gun at Kevins Guns in Thomasville GA. I didn't confirm the sn but I just sent him an e-mail to check it. I can't imagine that it was that wrong, but you never know. Thanks for your help. The reason I was so blinded was he had just shown me two sequential sn Winchester model 21's grade 7 3 barrel sets in 20,28,and410. I thought my head would explode. Only thing better would have been an Invinceble grade Parker!

You're welcome George. I had to take a double look just to make sure I was reading it right.

The sn was 236306 Mike wrote down the wrong last digit. Most interested in the stock configuration and everything else.

I think Kevin's $45,000 V Grade .410 is a better buy than his $15,000 V Grade 20 gauge.

Bill, I don't know if I can stand the heat of 45K. Hopefully that was tounge-in-cheek

Yup, tongue in cheek. Kevin's prices must be thought up by a team of lawyers.

Gorge that is one sweet looking Parker. I can't help you with the value but I'm positive others will. Really nice find.

a Parker VHE skeet gun 28 inch barrels, BTFE, Round knob prince-of-wales pistol grip, 14.25 LOP, 20 gauge 95% CCH and 95% barrel blueing around 1926 sn 236306.

The serial number chronology says made in 1934, as I recall the year the Parker Skeet Gun was introduced. However, the barrel flats don't state Skeet-Out, Skeet-In, and it has a butt plate instead of the checkered wood butt of a righteous VHE-Grade Skeet Gun. Then there is the checkering on the stock cheeks covering some sort of repair to the head of the stock. I believe I can see two small nails or pins in the wood back of the sear pin in the first picture.

I believe it is a 20-gauge VHE-Grade with the options of a single trigger and a beavertail forearm, not a "Skeet Gun" and with the stock issues, I'd think $4500 would be plenty for getting into this project. JMO

Asa Kelley sold one that ended up in California that was a true 20 ga VHE
Skeet gun and did not look like that, it was described with sheet in, Skeet out
chokes, checkered butt and the Beavertail forend had a lot better look than this, it had a smoother rounder look.

I looked at the pictures, started to like the gun, then remembered who has offered it for sale and at what price. What a letdown.

Although a nice gun I would not consider this gun a factory skeet gun.

I xed out on the VHE too many questions from people who know more than I ever will. Vintage shotguns Jay Shacter has two 20 gauge guns A DHE Miller single trigger Pg, SFE 28 inch barrel that has been restored SBP, and a GHE Parker single trigger PG, SFE, 28 inch barrels that is origonal with the possible exception of reblued barrels DH butt plate . Asking price of 12950 for each gun. What do you guys think?

Asking price is one thing, getting it is another. Both those guns are way overpriced IMHO.

Have you spoken to him? He was at Dover Furnace, and did not have such a gun with him. I asked him back in June, at Hausmann's, about a DHE20 he had listed of Guns International, and he said he had sold it "months ago. Been too busy to take it off the internet" Mmm Hmm

He was on the way to a show last weekend. Had both 20 gauges. I had other fish to fry so I left it alone. I feel like Richard III a horse a horse my kingdom for a horse! When you have a bit of crazy money burning a hole in your..... well you know the rest

I have learned to listen to the voice of experience from this forum and hope to meet some of these guys one day. I'm too new to offer opinions but I have sought opinions and these guys have saved my bacon more than once. I can attest that some of the glowing recommendations from big time dealers don't always pan out, like a 20 ga. 95 % VHE that recently showed up and it looked great until you noticed that the checkering told you it was wearing a GH stock. Some really nice work went into that gun and it had a nice price too, so keep looking and learning and you will find a good one for your money.
