Brian, I don't think shooting de carbonized barrels, especially those that were honed, is wise. From what I've heard, they are not safe. Being a 14 gauge makes ammo near impossible to find, even components to reload is pricey. Purely for collecting considering what it is is a matter of how much does one want it. IMHO that particular gun in its current condition, not a whole hell of a lot seeing how I think it's a non-shooter. Just my opinion. I hope others chime in. Jim

The gun does have value in parts obviously. Hammers for those early guns as well as any lock parts for the back action guns are very hard to find if someone needs them. Same goes for solid stocks.
But don't overpay for a parts gun.

Thanks guys, I value the candid advice. Anyone that is interested let me know. It can be had for $750-$800 and I would be happy to connect you with the sell. PM me your name and number.
All the best!

Getting set up to shoot a 14 gauge gun would probably be more trouble than it is worth. The value I see is to say you have an early back action in 14 gauge.

You guys are harsher than I is....I'm seeing a fairly nice example of an early Parker. Who cares if it's 14ga or you can't shoot it? Does anyone expect to shoot any Parker of that vintage?
Seems like a righteous gun at a good price IMO.

I saw a twin to this Parker thirty or so years ago in Franklin County Kentucky. They had been shooting 16 gauge shells through it and there was a small split in the left barrel just forward of the forend. I tried to save it, but the owner had heard Parker's were high value and wanted thousands for it. I offered $250 and thought I was being generous.

I did not examine the barrels close since it was starting to rain. But this could be the same gun. It came from Ky 20 or 30 years ago to NW Ohio.
Small world.
