Dean: I loved your article so the only restoration on your gun was repair of the barrels forward of the chambers???; the rest of the gun is as found? If yes amazing! Craig

That's right Craig - Brad removed the lug, reshaped the forcing cones to their original taper, re-aligned the breech end of the barrels to bring them back together with the lug (they were only separated by .007" - .009" or so) and re-brazed everything back together stronger than had originally been done, then rebrowned the barrels. And then he proof tested the gun with zero negative results.
The rest of the gun is original in every way.
Thanks for your kind words.
Dean

Dean are you referring to the 16ga hammer gun?

Yup, you probably remember the one.
I'm just glad that Brad was able to bring it back from the brink.

Yes I do remember that one. Congrats to you and to Brad for bringing this one back. I know it was a tricky repair and other smiths thought it wasn't fixable. Glad to hear its back in the game.
