Guys, look at Gunbroker item number 504213891 at pictures 8-9-10. Are the barrels the same or is it just me?

Look like typical Twist barrels to me. My question would be why they have all those FFL requirements on a gun that is an antique? If I was home I'd go look at it.

The FFL requirements might just be boilerplate requirements for all the sellers auctions.

i can see the frame size in the last, and a portion of it in the next to last picture- looks like the same small font number 2 to me

I think what Melvin is saying is look at the barrel hook it looks shorter

It appears to me,in the photo with the small font #2, just behind it is a very shallow stamped # 3 also , I know it is listed as a # 2 Frame but with 6#1 Oz.Barrels ,unless they were going for a specific weight ,I would think this gun may be a # 3 Frame Gun ! I put it on my watch list just to watch what it did also and I questioned the same thing but since I am not a bidder I didn't want to kick tires and contact the seller ! This is just my own opinion !

Melvin ,I took an extra look and I have to agree with Researcher ,looks like a typical Twist Pattern to me on both barrels also ! I have to wonder what is going on under the floor plate , it appears to my eye it may be a bit warped or maybe just not positioned correctly and possibly why the floor plate screws are buggered up so badly ???? Of course those are quite repairable for a good smith ,a nice gun otherwise ,I would say ! Good Luckif you decide to bid on her ! Russ

The gun is a 10g and most 10g guns will usually be on a 3 frame. The lug on this one is marked with both a 2 and a 3. Both are different sizes and also of different fonts and struck with different force. The size and font are correct for the 3 stamp, not the 2 stamp. So, this gun is a 3 frame, not a 2 as the seller represents.

Regarding the guns hook and suspicion that the barrels in photo 8 are different than that in photo 10, this is just likely an illusion caused by the angle of the camera. The same subtle markings are visible on the hook in both photos.

Looks like a nice shooter #3 frame NH 10ga except for the trigger plate screws to me. Any opinions on the market value of such a gun? $1000.????

This one will likely have a hard time selling with a reserve on it. It is likely too high, as most reserves are. I personally don't even bother paying much attention to reserve listings. It's a good way for a seller to loose potential
Buyers.

The subject gun of this post reminds me of Austin's article in DGJ "Collecting and Especially Shooting Popular Parkers". The grade 1 guns are a great value and fun to shoot.

The floor plate is a mess. Needs professional attention plus screws and refinishing. Too much for me. Nice heavy barrels, though.

looking at the floor plate in pic 8- i wonder if it is not in place because the screws have been reversed-

but I also noticed a bit of a gap in the wood to bottom tang fit, making me wonder if the stock has started to split- last one i bought like that was toast inside (as i expected)

I was not suggesting the gun in this post is a good value, I was just stating my opinion that Grade 1 guns in general are a good value in the world of vintage American sxs shotguns. I agree with Bill the subject gun has two many issues for me to consider giving it a home.

Sort of like Brian says, I bet the reserve is something unreasonable.
