Hello
Has anyone tried 777 powder in 10 Ga. I use it in 19th century pistols and rifles and it is my favorite BP substitute. It avoids the fouling and corrosion issues common with other substitutes. I have shot it successfully in 12 ga. but have no pressure data. I didn't notice any melting of the hulls.

I've shot 2F, 3F, Pyrodex, and Clean Shot in my 12 and 10ga guns with no problems. It's the plastic wads that melt in the barrel. The shells will get burn holes around the base after a couple of shots. You should be fine to go.

Only used FFg to keep it simple. I use 2 1/2 or 2 3/4 dram and 1 oz shot. I only use paper hulls and use felt and card wads/overshot, no plastic hulls or wads. I'm happy with the results.

Idle question: do the BP subs mentioned produce the same smoke, fire and bang of BP? If so, might be fun to load up a few for a bit of "Trojan shock and awe" at Friday night skeet. :)

You still get a boom, but not near as much smoke or fire.
