Ladies and gentlemen , it is indeed my pleasure to announce that the prestigious AH Fox Championship awards are back!!! At the Northern SxS Challenge and Expo held at Rock Mountain, we will award the AH Fox Sub-Gauge Champion for the highest combined score in the 16g and 20g events (each 50 birds) shooting Fox guns. We will also present the AH Fox Big Bore Champion for the combined score of the 12g Big Bore and 12g Prelim events (each 50 birds) shooting Fox guns. As soon as I have the trophies in hand I will post the pics here. Let the games begin!!!

Don't just dust off the 16, but break out that 20 too!! Need to shoot both for the AH Fox Sub-Gauge trophy.

No problem with the 20. My new 30" 20 is just the ticket for this game. My 28" 16 Sterly deluxe has been my hunting gun so I guess I'll start breaking some clays with it to tune up. Can't wait.

Hey Mike, am I hearing correctly that the events will be scored by referees, no score your own? :)
Also, "field rules" for malfunctions, or allowance of 3 as in nsca shooting?

Scorers will be throughout the course. Only day we may send trappers with a squad would be Thursday, depending on walk-ins. That's why preregistration is important!! And, FIELD RULES are the rule of the day. No NSCA nonsense. Thanks for asking. :)

Thanks Mike, I like the field rules .... gun doesn't go bang for any reason, bird flies away ..... LOSS!
A couple of other questions: are sub gauge tubes/inserts allowed - 20 gauge tubes in a 12-gauge gun? Also, how about gents opting to shoot a smaller gauge in a larger gauge event? Examples: shoot 20 in the 16 gauge event, 20 or 16 in the 12 gauge event, or CSMC Fox 28 in the 20 gauge event?

They can shoot smaller bores in a bigger bore event. As for tubes/inserts, no. There will also only be 1 gun shot at a time. Squads/shooters will not be shooting 2 or 3 guns at a time. That slows everything down. The stands are close enough to make for easy rotations that multiple rounds can be done 1 gun at a time. Keep it simple. :) BTW, you can enter events multiple times, but your first round is what counts for score for any awards (Manufacturers Cup is the exception).Manufacturers Cup will be top 5 scores from any manufacturer from the 50 bird prelim events (10,12 & 16) on Friday/Saturday.

A prior commitment prevents my attendance this year. My Fox 16ga will be completed in about another month, the 12ga Sterlingworth is on it's way and will be scheduled for a new stock and a face lift but NOW I have to find a 20ga for next year:eek:

As usual, Savage Fox Model B guns are not recognized in our events. Only Philly, Utica and CSMC guns are accepted. Hope this clarifies things. :D To qualify you must shoot the 16 or 20 gauge Prelim and Mid Bore events for a total of 100 targets with a Fox (Philly, Utica or CSMC) to win the Small Bore Championship. To qualify for the Big Bore Championship you must shoot your Fox (Philly, Utica or CSMC) 12g in the Big Bore and Prelim events for 100 targets. Ever have too much fun????

Damn, Mike, I have been practicing with my 32", straight grip model B for months now and now you tell me it's not legal? Would it make any difference if I told you it was lettered to THE Miguel de la Sierra?

AH FOX CHAMPIONSHIPS
This competition is open to anyone who plans to shoot a Fox-designed shotgun (Baltimore Arms, Philly, Utica and CSMC). You don't have to be a member of the A H Fox Collectors Association. AHFCA annual and life members will pay a $15.00 entry fee. Entry fee for non-members is $20.00. "Registered users” on the AHFCA Forums are non-members if they are not annual or life members.
Here are the rules:

- To qualify for the Small Bore Championship, you must shoot your Fox 20g or 16g in two @ 50 bird events consisting of the 20g and 16g Mid Gauge events and/or the 16g Prelim. If you shoot all 3 events we will use your 2 highest scores for your qualifying total. You may shoot a 20g in a 16g event. The Small Bore events will be shot on Thursday, Friday and Saturday, 9/3, 9/4 & 9/5..
- To qualify for the Big Bore Championship, you must shoot your Fox gun in both the 50 bird 12g Big Bore event and the 50 bird 12g Prelim event. Your 2 scores will be combined for the event total to decide the Champion. The Big Bore events will be shot on Thursday, Friday and Saturday, 9/3, 9/4 & 9/5.
- Upon completion of the events, you must turn your score in to the AHFGCA booth for verification. Any ties will be decided by a shoot off designated by RMSC staff. Any discrepancies will be settled by RMSC staff.
