I reloaded 50 brass shells after chambering them empty to be sure they fit and about twenty loaded shells don't chamber now. The process is done by hand and a wooden plunger is used to seat wads, powder and shot. The brass is Remington, Ballard and Winchester. Any thoughts? I plan on emptying them and resizing so I'm in the market for a 12 gauge resizer, I welcome your recomendations.

As far as I know there is only one out there and it is in 12ga. I think it is RCBS and buffalo arms has them. Hang on to your hat. If I remember correctly the die set is pretty pricey.

If they would before, and you loaded by hand, IMHO, there's no way they wouldn't fit now. The wooden plunger could not possibly make the brass shell go oversized. Are you saying you can't now close the gun? I've reloaded many brass shells [ Magtech ] by hand or with a Mec reloader and never had your problem. I don't know what to say to help you out - but don't believe they need to be resized. Even after firing my shells, they never needed to be resized. What exactly is wrong - they won't start in the chambers or they won't go in all the way? When you tried them before reloading, did you try closing the gun with the shells in the chamber ? Maybe you have short chambers with a step and have to shorten the shells. I had a Parker 10 with 2 5/8 chambers that had a step - no forcing cone - so I had to use shells that length. Good luck, but I don't believe resizing is necessary if they fit before you reloaded them. Paul

Could the chambers be different sizes? Try the ones that don't fit in the other barrel. If that solves the problem, mark across the bottom of the shells with a magic marker the ones for the left barrel as there will likely be less of those than the right barrel.
A Lee Load-All has a resizing tool that might work for a $52 investment.
