It's worth whatever price you have to pay to squire it... if you want it badly enough.

Are you looking to buy it, or do you own it? It appears to be in high or rather high condition. In that configuration, it would be a very popular gun.

I'd be interested to know the gauge, even.

The butt stock looks to of had some finish applied is the metal that shinny blue or is it just a flash from camera ?

Steve Huffman

book has it 12 ga. 28 inch barrels

Its a 12 ga gun that has really good case color.I was not sure if the gun was that rare in a 1 frame and 28" barrels from the factory.I would like the gun but not that crazy about hammer guns.
Problem is that shortly after a vh 20ga walked up.Its in rough shape but probably a good shooter at least.
There are a couple questions about it.It is stamped v grade but has a trojan buttstock(lined buttstock). Is that correct? Then it has a pull off forend I thought vh guns had hardware forends(metal release)?
Its been quite a day.
Icing on the cake picked up a fun gun stevens 311 410.

Great gun Bob. But "Not crazy about hammerguns?" Give it time ....give it time.....:rotf:

It's very hard to confuse a Trojan with a VH.
Easiest identifier is to read the rib legend.
One says Trojan Steel and the other says Vulcan Steel.

I am looking at a receiver flat this is a trojan gun correct?

Steve Huffman

Does that have Parker Brothers engraved on the side ?

Steve Huffman

Looks to be a early Trojan

I thought so, guy has it listed as a vh and said it several times.Hard to ignore someone while looking a gun over.
Thanks again

I'll have to look gun over again in the morning and double check it all.I would swear it said vulcan on barrels with matching serial number.

Give us a picture of the side of the frame and the rib inscription and rib extension .

That hammer gun looks to be in pretty amazing condition if it's all original. A lot of folks here would be all over that cutie.

OV is the stamped designation of the Trojan, regardless of what the barrels are marked. It could be a Trojan with Vulcan barrels fitted but if the forend is a snap-on fit then maybe the rib doesn't say Vulcan at all?

Bob Hayes

Right, I'll confirm it all tomorrow.

There should be a very distinct age difference in the gun that makes it easy to determine whether it is a Trojan or a Vulcan. The Trojans were of prominence over 1000 years ago, whereas the Vulcans come from at least 20 years in the future. Beam me up, Scotty!

What did this gun turn out to be ?

Bob Hayes
07-06-2015, 07:51 PM
It was a trojan 20ga.It was clear as a bell when I went back and looked the next day.
Still working on the grade 2 hammergun.
I'll post pictures later.Good shooter gun with potential.

A good Trojan 20 is nothing to sneeze at. You'd do well to pick that one up too if the price is right.

I did not see the gun show location mentioned? Just wondering as you had a few good Parker options. Shows with Parkers can be few and far between.

Looks to me like you should have bought that grade 2 hammer gun, looked to have really good condition left? Gary

So what's the story on the hammer gun???

Bob Hayes
07-11-2015, 09:06 PM
The show was in south Florida, one of many here every week it seems these days. But as with most things you don't see any most of the time but when it rains it pours.I have come to realize a little bait does bring them to light.I have been showing one of the parkers I already have and individuals walking by will ask about mine or hopefully theirs.
The hammer gun I am passing on I really want to stick to my game plan as far as parkers go.But the gun is going up for sale here shortly. The owner is getting some good pictures together and he said I can offer it for sale if thats okay before he goes to gunbroker or another gun auction.
So let me know if there is anything special anyone needs to see.

Sticking to a game plan is hard. You should feel proud you have that will power.

Tell that to the stevens 311 410 I couldn't let walk away. The lord works in mysterious ways.
