I've only known her for about 24 hours now, but she seems to be settling in... Napping away in the sun, and another in her bed. I'm sure she won't mind if I take a Parker along on our future hunts together! Her name is Yetta, 8 week old Deutsch Drahthaar... Thanks to Chris Dawe for giving me a heads up on this litter, and trying to convince me on getting one for the past couple years. Yetta is from the same kennel as Chris' DD Heiko!

Thank you both! I'll certainly post more as she matures, and yes she is already quite smart and following me around like a shadow!

Truer words were never said Chris, haha... been hunting without a dog for far too long! And Nah....I know how cherished those grouse spots are to you! I got a few of my own... Maybe not at bountiful as your's  but they still provide. If you wanted to take me along some day though, I suppose You could always blindfold me and Yetta, to and from the area.. You know, to keep the location sacred.

So much promise in that little sweetheart's eyes. It won't be long till that bed fits "just right". Enjoy her.

They are pretty thick in a couple spots...and see how I used a DD and Parker to get a few .

The nice greasy "leavings" in the branches, look close its there ... there was a pile underneath you wouldn't fit in a coffee cup...it's always a good sign there's one or two close by ;)

Update on Yetta.. 11 weeks now and absolutely loves being in the woods! During a couple walks around some trails and exploring the few acres we own, she has already been getting "birdy" and have had a couple small "mini points" on some tree'd grouse! still has a few small accidents from time to time in the house, but in terms of kennel training, she's perfect! Growing fast too! Sticks to me like a shadow...
