I have an advance copy of the Summer DGJ and want to let members know there’s a great Parker article in it, on a certain VHE 410. It was written by Steve Cambria "Tool Man" and it’s the tale of a respected member’s multi-year quest for the gun. Written in Steve's inimitable style, it’s a good read and one I think you'll enjoy.

Also want to mention that Daniel Cote wrote about how he and Joanna did their very first trade fair this year after 25 years of publishing the DGJ; that was the Southern SxS, and they plan to be at the Orvis Game Fair and also the North American Shotgun Classic at Dover Furnace. Both events in NY and in September. Dan also shared some personal thoughts and mementos from his Gun Room to include his first baseball glove bought with proceeds from lawn mowing and selling nightcrawlers, also some paintings and two favorite 20b double guns. He promised to share more in future issues. A nice glimpse of the publishers .....

Just returned home from ten days in Maine and opened my new copy of DGJ last night. What a treat!

And of course, I read Steve's article (story?) first. An excellent story Steve, full of fact and fancy... but mostly fact - the fancy part is his writing style and I must say... "I've grown accustomed to his style." (sung to the tune of I've Grown Accustomed to Her Face).

And congratulations to our friend, the new proud owner of that sweet little .410 ;)

I also enjoyed the story, but I have a habit of picking up the DGJ and checking to see if there are pieces on Parkers. Those are to read first! Dan

My copy came yesterday and Frank is being humble. His article on the lovely Fox CE was the first I read and then Steve's fine piece on the VHE 410. BOTH are very fine articles and well done.

Lots of good stuff in this issue. Kim Alyworth has a nice piece on Manton's and there is a great article on E.M. Riley.
