Just perchased a nice old damascus 1901 GH grade 16. No barrel isues and tight old gun with good screws, little to no finish left on metal but good patern on barrels, very good wood...sweet. Both ivory beads have been nocked off. Part of each beed is still in the round setting. I just need the beeds. Would like real ivory that has that milky off white color. Will carfully remove old beads and glue in the new ones. I have a VH 20 with the same beed set to match the size with. Some scap ivory may work and make them myself? Anyone have a salution to fixing this. It also has the lower 1 1/2" missing from the DHBP ...broke at the lower screw and is gone? No-1 frame with widdows peak. Anyone have a broken plate with a good lower section that could be hand fitted to mine? the top part fits so well I hate to try a aftermarket plate. I have a minty no-2 widows peak plate but its to narrow at the lower toe area and the scew patern is different? Just will not work...)-: If I can fix these two isues it will make a very nice old Parker with no additional work! Plan to shoot the correct short shells...the 28" barrels are chokes .019/.028 6lb-10oz gun, will make a nice preserve gun...(-: thanks all Kenny Graft SXS ohio

Galazan sells ivory beads. New England Custom Gun may also have them.

Brownell's has them also, but they are big. You have to file them down to match the ones on your other gun. Then use locktite to hold them in.

The Brownell is the NECG sight, same sight, same price.

Galazans sells them as a pair, I don't believe they're quite as large as the Brownells type.

I used the monster 5mm sight on the front of my VHE .410 skeet. My gunsmith was not thrilled with my choice, but I am. It is just a little out of proportion for the .410. I have used Tony's sights too, probably still have one or two for emergencies.

I have a friend that also made me several sights out of old mastodon Ivory from Alaska and Siberia. It is so old that it has a sort of honey color. It used to sell on e-bay for $40 for several pounds of scrap. It cost about $25 for each bead, but I no longer have the contact, but they are beautiful.

Thanks all..I have sent the gun to Brad Bachelder for evaluation....may have damascus freshed up, new correct beads and repair butt plate....not replaced, he said he could fit a repair peice in place and would look good. The wood and frame are in exclent condition, the engraving is deep and visable with the early type birds. Should have a nice 16ga GH bird gun after its finished. Will shoot RST-S 5# shot on wild roosters in Kansas this fall...(-:
