As a new member I have noticed that many of the older Parkers were chambered for 2 and 9/16 shells ( I have one ) What about the older Trojans ? What was the frame size of Trojan ?Daniel G Rainey

Most earlier Parker chambers were 2-5/8" and were intended for 2-3/4" shells.

Trojan 12g guns were built on number 2 frames.

Thank you ! If you had a Trojan that was numbered under 170,000 would you shoot 2 and 1/2 shells even if the chambers were 2 and 3/4 ?

Parker's published heavy recommended load for number 2 frame 12's was 1 1/8 oz at 3 1/4 dre 2 3/4 inch.

You could review the service load tables in TPS if concerned. Even heavier loads are still within limits for a Parker in servicible condition.

That is up to you. But you don't have to.

The action will take it, but to me I am more concerned about the stock. Old wood which has been soaking up oil for 75 or 100 years, be kind to your stock!

Less is often more.A7/8 or 3/4 oz. 12 ga. load at moderate velocity will amaze you at the pattern board or clays. Also on most upland hunting 7/8 or 1 oz.will do anything heavier loads can. We americans have a love affair with magnum loads that the rest of the shotgun world does not share

i switch to 3/4 oz 7 1/2's for trap and it does do the job just fine, next week i will try them on the sporting clays course for the 1st time. I do love the lack of recoil, 7/8 ths oz loads are now my "heavy" loads on clays. And the fps is around 1150 on both loads,

I switch between 3/4 oz and 7/8 oz for my 12 G Parkers depending on the gun and more important target. Only 12 G Parker I use 1 oz is a Lifter with Black Powder . It just seems right to put more shot in a Lifter with Black. And it's a Heavy gun
