Continuing our discussion of the AHE .410 from the "For Sale" subforum, Dean mentions that the gun showed some use. Yes, it is a field used gun with a shortened stock. I believe I provided Dean with pictures, which he may choose to share on this forum. It is a lovely little gun, in skeet configuration with, I believe, Skeet In or Skeet Out chokes in both barrels. I don't remember which. Now that someone says he saw the gun at Chantilly, I have more of an idea of the identity of the buyer, a fellow that occasionally crosses the Mason Dixon line to make a trade or two. At the Gettysburg auction, he was described as a "local". I can't imagine why we have not heard of this gun since its sale, but the fellow who I suspect may have bought the gun is not a real outgoing guy. How about those pictures for the forum or PP, Dean?

Good grief, did I just post that "I provided someone with pictures"?

I am in the process of moving all of my Parker corespondence and all of my other stuff from my small office/gunroom upstairs to my new digs that I have just finished in my basement. It would be a very time-consuming search to find those pictures.... but someday I will post them to this thread.

Bill, The selling price you talked about seems correct to me, best I remember it was a little over 100,000, and the gun was in rather rough shape, but still it is a A grade 410, the only one I know of! I was introduced to the man with the gun, "I was told he had bought it for a collector who wanted to remain anonymous" and after showing me the A grade 410 he came to my tables and looked at my P grade steel barrel collection, which included the 410, and the 28 gauge, gary

Bob, I am not aware of an AHE .410 at the Southern. Maybe you could tell us more about it.

I can't find any discussion of this gun under the "For Sale" subforum. Am I looking in the wrong place? Lots of detail behind the surfacing and sale of this gun!

Kevin, it was buried in George Purtill's ad for his grade 4 hammer gun.
The discussion was moved here to not muddy up George's thread.

Uh Oh, The dread CRS disease! It can manifest itself any time, cure 1/2 lemon or lime and Padrone tequila, Gary

Yup, Gary, the exact price was $116,000 before any tax. The buyer should have had it shipped out of state to save himself the PA State sales tax.

This skeet configured AHE .410 is No. 241576 and was ordered and sold by A&F with 'skeet out' and 'skeet in' 28" barrels.

Believed to have originally been ordered in 1939 by the same gentleman who ordered the IJ Skeeter .410 two-barrel set that I once owned.

Who was that person, Dean? I would like to see whether he was a competition skeet shooter or just a bird hunter.

What do ya mean "just a bird hunter"? Some of my closest friends are "just bird hunters :)
