I have had this Parker Bros. Shotgun for a while but am thinking about possibly selling it. Here is the information I have after doing some research.

Frame size- 3 (means its a 10 GA)
Weight stamp- 58
Serial #- 42XXX which says it was made in 1884
Grade- no grade on the water table
Steel- Twist

It has hammers, a shield on the grip behind the top lever, original wood although the checkering is worn down almost completely. The left barrel is original but it looks as if the right has been patched.

I will try to get pics up but all I have is a cell phone. Can anyone help with price and/ or more info?

what do you mean the right barrel is "patched"

it looks like the barrel was pitting or re-blued in one spot

The patch on the barrel looks like a bulge that was hammered on,
and the rib has holes filled in.

I don't believe I'd care to shoot that right barrel without a qualified inspection.

The gun would be considered a grade 1. Given its minimal engraving and twist barrels.

Yes, that is a bulge that has been worked down some. It appears it was some sort of rear iron sight that was installed on the rib at one time. Maybe used for shooting buckshot or pumpkin balls at deer. May explain the bulge in the barrel.

The condition of the barrel really does hurt the value of the gun.

Jason, It is a shooter, if you find a set of barrels for it, do not shoot the gun with those barrels! you should be able to find a set of barrels for that gun fairly easy To be honest with you it will be a hard sell like it is! Sort of like a parts gun, Gary

Where would be a good place to search for replacement barrels?

They pop up here on the For Sale section but you must be a member to gain access. Also in the Members Only section is a "Want To Buy" forum where we can post free ads for guns, parts, cases and just about anything else double gun related. For a $40 membership fee havi access to this area is worth becoming a member. Of course there are many other benefits as well but if you want parts or guns this is where they can be had.
