Saw a first generation damascus Parker DH recently and on the bottom of the receiver was a pointer looking back instead of the usual flying ducks, anyone ever run across one of these? T

One of my early DH damascus guns on a one frame had a nice Setter on the floorplate. Much nicer then the birds that they ended up using

The dog was on the floorplate of the early DH with non rebounding hammers. I don't know about the last one, but the single dog returned on the Ilion D. Good topic for Parkers Found.

Hmmm... the "Dog Looking Back" engraving motif...

I remember several years ago the "bird looking back" was an oft discussed engraving topic. I'll certainly keep a sharp eye out for looking back dogs on Parkers. Does anyone have an example they can show us?

I have a 12 DH (Ser # 56788) with a single setter on the floorplate and a setter "looking back" (looks more like the dog is relieving itself) on the right side of the receiver. I just took some pictures but I can't find the dang cord to upload them. Hopefully I can get them up tomorrow.
