I picked up about 70 Winchester 12 gauge brass shells and would like to load with them. However, the primer looks to be a small pistol or small rifle sized primer. Does anyone know which primer would work? Thanks

Large pistol fit the Winchester 12 gauge brass I got from Richard Flanders. Tricky part is removing spent primers.

Thanks, I am going to make a tool to size and remove the primer.

You could make a piece of wood that fits relatively snug inside the shell fill them 2/3's with water and use the water to push them out as you tapped the end of the dowel or wood .
I've seen folks use this method to remove Berdan primers so I see no reason it wouldn't work for boxer primed cases as well .

I had two dozen Winchester 10 gauge hulls awhile back and actually used a tiny punch to knock the primers out . But I never did try and use them . Ended up selling them to a friend in Roanoke .

Tools like this are made to do exactly what you want to do. They show up frequently on eBay

That's the kind of gear I started my shotgun reloading with, and for a VH12 Parker no less, in about 1963. I still have everything I used back then except the primer punch; Don't even know what happened to it. I still have the wood base block and the funnel though, a primer set, and two roll crimpers.
