I just purchased some lead shot from Heritage Gun and Coin in Providence, RI for $40/bag which is considerably less than I paid a few months ago, they tell me lead prices are dropping. FYI this post

Hmm. Don't know where he's getting his information. World price for lead is up 20% in the last 6 weeks.

Don't have any idea how the world price equates to shot prices, but I just ordered thru our gun club, for delivery in about 4 weeks at $36 for magnum shot

I have no idea really but the cost of raw lead is only one factor, energy to mine, smelt and transport has come down a lot and that probably has more to do with the retail price of a bag of lead shot.

Price sure not down here in Alaska. I think it was $53/bag last I looked. They'll blame shipping, of course.

Paul - Are you buying thru your club? If so, are they buying from Dawson's? Our club has an order coming in in about a week. I think shot is $38

I posted this on the reloading supplies thread but should have been here, I guess.
I saw Eagle shot in a gun shop last week for $35.95 plus tax. That is a buck lower than I paid last fall.

$33.75 in PA. CAC Associates. They post prices on their website, so there is no mystery except availability. For volume orders to be delivered by truck, they will accumulate your order on pallets until they have enough to ship. Maybe some items will be short, but that has not been my experience. What system could be better? Certainly better than "No, we don't have any of that, call us next month."

Cheapest I've found from any of the distributers I use is at $33 @ bag . And then you need to figure in shipping .
That price however is a couple bucks cheaper then the last time I picked up shot .
