I'm looking at a 12 GA. DHE 1 1\2 frame Parker for sale. The gun as it exists today has a crudely fashioned beavertail forearm using the original forearm iron. The original wood and tip are missing. What are my limitations trying to get this gun up and working with a original Parker forearm ? Have seen a 2 frame DH splinter forearm for sale but do not know if it could be fitted or adapted ? The gun was mfg. in 1912 so I would guess that it has the 2 piece bbl. lug or loop. Could 2 frame DH wood be fitted to 1 1\2 DHE iron ? Thanks for any thoughts or ideas. Mark

It's a 50/50 shot. But having the original forend iron is a big plus. I think all of the forend woods were milled in a jig so it should be very close but there may be slight differences between frame sizes.
Just as much of a challenge is to modify an extractor forend wood to fit the ejector iron. You may just want to have a stocker like Brian Dudley make a new one for you and eliminate all the hassles. I would however, have him burnish down the points to match the wear of your gun's grip checkering.

For arms for 2 frame and 1-1/2 frame irons are the same. So either will work.
There is always a little bit of variation in the width and radius at the rear of the forend. But usually forends can be made to fit with some work. And sometimes they install fine with no work at all.

Will a 2 frame buttstock work on a 11/2 gun.

Yes. Baring any of the typlical fit issues when trying to put one stock on another gun.

Brian just found and fit a fore arm for me on a VHE that I bought with no fore arm. A great guy who does great work, it is a pleasure to recommend him.
