Looking at a sales bill for an estate sale tonight and they have listed Parker pocket knifes. Did Parker Brothers make pocket knifes or might this be another Parker???

Jim Parker made Parker Knives. Nothing to do with Parker Bros. of Meriden CT but he was an active PGCA Member with quite a collection of Parker guns.

His knives are collectible if in new condition.

bulldogknives.org "silverladdie" on ebay. Jim Parker was one of us, was an over the top collector of Parker guns and everything else Parker.

His Parker knives were etched on the blade with a very nice rendition of the "Parker Gun" logo. I have a 'new' prototype sheath knife and a 'new' prototype folding knife. They are very nice.

I bought several Parkers and Parker lamps from his collection at auction. He must have had a tremendous collection.

Best Regards, George

I wasn't aware until I bought the two volume set that Parker had a hand in steam engines !

Back when I had a couple steam traction engines I would like to have had one of the stationary or portable engines Parker had a hand in making !

I'd also like to get my hands on a Parker-Snow civil war musket that hasn't been converted to a cartridge gun .

Just a point of interest. There were 6 Parker pocket knives there last night, the least expensive sold for $25.00 the most went for $120.00.

Compare those prices with the Parker knives that "silverladdie" sells on ebay. Jim Parker used to use that "silverladdie" handle when he was buying Parker paper and related items. He was a hard man to compete with.
