Here is my 10 year old with quackers he got this year on opening day of youth waterfowl (1 weekend early) here in Colo.
He is proud of his new (to him) 16 ga Winchester complete with Cutts dog doo on the end. He has all three choke tubes for it
This is why we hunt.

A wonderful picture Pete! How can ya beat that?

You are so right - "this is why we hunt." To bring up a new generation in the hunting tradition and all that goes with it. Congratulations to both you and your son!

BTW, what's his name? I know we'll be seeing more of him in days and years to come.

His name is Wyatt. He is out plowing snow right now since Dad is laid up. I should have taken photos but he shot his first sporting clays in the winter league this year. He averaged a 50 which was pretty good I thought. He used my 28 ga repro and got a little too attached to it! The model 12 has the short flat forend so it is still a long reach for him to pump it very quickly. The pup is Cisco.
I was able to get him that M12 for $300 because of the cutts. I had a short stock for that frame size I put on for him. Its a 1952 vintage and had hardly been shot.

Nice work! Bet he's as proud of those waders as he is the gun. Can get out there and fix the decoys with the big boys now. I never owned my first pair till I was 18 years old, I know I was pretty proud of them even at that age.

Correct on the waders. He got them last year and wore them constantly. I think I have pic of him working on decoys. I'll post it if I find it.
