I love the smell of powder and paper shells.

I've come across a guy with about 200-28 gauge Federals (no boxes) roll crimp. They are in quite good condition and am wondering what might be a reasonable amount to pay for them.
He's offered them for $100. Reasonable?

Should I be able to reload these a few times?

I picked up some old win. papers a few years ago. They looked great , but when I went to reload them they had been moist for 2 long and the paper shell would crush when reloaded.

At $12.50 per box they are priced in line with modern premium field loads. I say go for it.

I'm loading new old stock Federal paper 16 gauge hulls and get an average of 3 reloads before they start getting pin holes at the shell head.

Unless you are going to roll crimp them, there may be a problem converting to a folded crimp. I'd offer $10 per 25 max. $80--unless you just gotta have them!!

Thanks guys!
I got them at the price that you recommended Bill. I'm pretty happy that they are all 9 shot, so I hope to use them on some quail hunts.
Other than a good bit of dust I don't think they've ever been wet, and look to be in pretty good shape.

Charlie,
You'd probably want one with a 42" barrel to compensate for the weight that you're used to swinging with your 8's!
