I looked at a 12ga hammer gun today that I have never heard of or seen before. It is in really nice condition and I would like any info any of you might have about this piece. On the top rib it says "manufactured by Meriden Firearms Co., Meriden Ct." and on the side of the receiver frame it says " The A J Aubry Co" The barrels are twist of some type and the frame is case color with most of it still very bright, wood appears to be walnut and crack free.
Any info would be appreciated. Carvel

Do you have any way of getting some pictures? I have heard of the Meriden Firearms Co.

Aubrys and Meridens were made by the same company. They used first rate barrels. The fit and finish is not as fine as the top end makers but they were capable guns and well made. They are generally considered second tier guns in the collecting world, however that should not deter a person from acquiring a nice one.

Interesting that they use face book. I passed on nice 20 ga a few years ago at a gun show. It was only $750. Some of their work is really good.
